We don’t choose people who “just want to try teaching” — we look for those with character, values, and a genuine intention to act.
What matters to us is motivation, personal responsibility, the desire to learn and grow, leadership potential, and alignment with our values. The selection process is led by a team of experts: each stage is an opportunity to show who you are and understand whether the path of leadership through education is right for you.
The selection stages include: an online application (your story and motivation), an online interview (meeting the Teach For Uzbekistan team), an assessment center (group tasks, a sample lesson, and an interview), a meeting with a methodologist (evaluating pedagogical potential), and the summer institute — training and preparation for two years of teaching in a school.
Becoming a Fellow means joining the community of leaders within Teach For Uzbekistan and the global Teach For All movement. What a Fellow does:
Teaches and inspires children
You provide subject knowledge and help students discover their talents, encourage curiosity, and motivate them to set ambitious goals.
Drives change in the local community
You create and launch projects that improve the school and community environment — from clubs to social initiatives.
Grows as a leader
You receive mentorship support, experiment with new approaches, and learn how to lead people and processes. This experience builds the foundation for future large-scale projects that require responsibility and strong team-management skills.
You join Teach For Uzbekistan not for lectures, but for real, hands-on experience that shapes you as a leader.
Deepening pedagogical knowledge
You learn modern teaching methods that help you explain concepts clearly, keep students engaged, and make lessons dynamic, useful, and interesting.
Leadership development through real practice
A school is a mini-society where you learn to guide a team, make managerial decisions, and advance your own ideas.
The ability to work with people
You will learn in practice how to inspire children, build relationships with adults, support your team, and manage yourself in challenging situations.
Experience that will set you apart in the future
Fellows gain experience valued across all sectors in Uzbekistan and beyond. Teach For All operates in 63 countries, meaning businesses and non-profits worldwide know that a Fellow is someone who can be trusted with tasks, teams, and processes.
A community of like-minded people
You become part of a global network of 106,000 Teach For All alumni — people who share your values and on whom you can rely. Together, it’s easier to grow, try new things, and launch ambitious initiatives.
How We Support Our Fellows
Scholarship
Throughout the two-year program, fellows receive a monthly stipend.
Mentorship
Every Fellow has a personal coordinator who helps them grow, provides honest feedback, and supports them through challenging situations.
Continuous Learning
Trainings, workshops, seminars, case reviews, and peer learning build not only strong pedagogical skills but also essential leadership competencies. The program develops project-based thinking, systems analysis, the ability to launch independent initiatives, and solid research skills. Before beginning their work in schools, Fellows complete a five-week Summer Institute — an intensive preparation stage that provides the foundation for their teaching practice and their growth as emerging leaders.
Methodological and Emotional Support
Teach For Uzbekistan helps fellows navigate both professional and personal challenges. You will never face difficulties or doubts alone.
