Политика приёма пожертвований
v1.0 · 22 сентября 2026 г.
In short. We gladly accept donations that help us recruit, train and support teachers for schools that need them. We accept money, goods and services, from individuals and organisations, in Uzbekistan and abroad, and we say clearly what we cannot accept: money from unlawful sources, from activities that harm children and young people, or with conditions that would bend our mission. We recognise donors with their agreement, we do not sell or share their data, and we report every year on what we received and what it achieved.
1. Purpose
This policy explains which donations Teach For Uzbekistan accepts, how it decides, and what donors can expect. It applies to all gifts to NGO "Teach For Uzbekistan": one-off and regular donations, grants, sponsorships, in-kind gifts, pro bono services and matched giving through partner platforms.
2. What we accept
- Money — in Uzbek soums through Payme, Click and Uzum, by bank transfer to the account on the Support page, and in foreign currency by bank transfer (account details on request from info@teachforuzbekistan.org); through the Yandex "Helping Together" project and similar partner platforms.
- Grants from foundations, companies and international organisations, under a written agreement.
- In-kind gifts — goods and services useful to our work (teaching materials, equipment, venues, travel, professional services), when TFU can use, store and account for them. We may decline in-kind gifts that create costs or obligations we cannot meet.
- Corporate partnerships — sponsorship of a cohort, a region, the Summer Institute or a project, with agreed recognition (see 5).
- Restricted gifts — earmarked for a purpose within our mission (for example a region or the Summer Institute), where TFU can honour the restriction; if the purpose becomes impossible, we agree an alternative with the donor or return the gift.
- Unrestricted gifts — used where the need is greatest; these are the most valuable to us.
3. What we do not accept
We decline a donation, or return it, when:
- it comes from proceeds of crime or from a person or organisation under sanctions by the Uzbek authorities, or the donor cannot be identified where identification is required (see 4);
- it comes from the production or promotion of tobacco, alcohol, gambling, weapons or adult content, or from activities that harm children and young people;
- its conditions would influence what we teach, whom we select, where we place Fellows, or would require us to promote a product, party or belief;
- it is made by a political party or for political purposes, or would compromise our independence from state bodies and partners;
- it would create a conflict of interest for a board member, staff member or Fellow that cannot be managed;
- accepting it would damage the trust of schools, families, partners or the public in TFU.
The Director (CEO) decides in ordinary cases; the Board of Trustees decides in doubtful or significant cases.
4. Checks we make
- Donations through the payment services and the bank arrive with the payer's details required by those providers and by law.
- For grants, sponsorships and significant gifts we identify the donor, its source of funds and its activities (public sources, the donor's own information) and record the check.
- Foreign grants and donations are received and used according to the rules of the Republic of Uzbekistan on funding of non-governmental non-profit organisations from foreign sources, including registration with the justice authorities where required.
- We comply with the legislation on combating the legalisation of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism. We do not accept cash: donations are made through the payment services and by bank transfer only.
- Anonymous donations are accepted only through the payment services and the bank (where the provider knows the payer) and only up to USD 1,000 (or the equivalent in soums).
5. Recognition and independence
- We thank every donor. With the donor's agreement we may show the name or logo on the Partners page and in reports; individuals are named only with their consent.
- Recognition is proportionate and does not imply endorsement of the donor's products or views; it never gives the donor influence over our programme, selection or content.
- A donor's logo on the website links to the donor's site only where agreed; we may remove recognition if the donor's conduct conflicts with this policy or with our values.
- Naming of cohorts, programmes or awards after donors requires a written agreement approved by the Board.
6. Refunds and errors
If a donation was made by mistake (wrong amount, duplicated payment), the donor may ask for a refund within 30 days at info@teachforuzbekistan.org (subject line "Donations"); we refund through the same channel, less any provider fee that we cannot recover. Otherwise donations are final; restricted gifts whose purpose cannot be fulfilled are returned or redirected by agreement (section 2).
7. Transparency and reporting
- Donations are recorded in TFU's accounts under the legislation on non-governmental non-profit organisations and on charity; the annual financial report and the programme report are published on the Reports page.
- Donors receive a confirmation on request and, for grants, the reporting agreed in the contract.
- We do not sell, rent or exchange donor data. Donor data is handled under the Privacy Policy and the Law "On Personal Data"; payment data stays with the payment provider or bank.
8. Taxes
Teach For Uzbekistan is a registered non-governmental non-profit organisation (NGO). We make no representation about the tax treatment of a donation for the donor; please consult your adviser. Receipts for tax purposes are issued on request within the rules of the Tax Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
