What we do
We recruit young leaders, train them, and place them in regional schools for two years. Fellows teach priority subjects — mathematics, sciences, English and IT — run projects with their schools and communities, and grow as leaders with mentoring and a global network.
Our belief
We unite leaders who don’t wait for change but create it; who build their future with intention and confidence; who are ready to ignite, inspire and grow the next generation of leaders; and who want to spark real change in education and beyond.
Our values

Perseverance
Together, we overcome challenges and see things through.

Growth
We grow every day by trying new things and supporting one another.

Inclusivity
We build relationships based on respect, genuine connection and the belief that every individual matters.

Leadership
We take responsibility and act, while staying open and approachable.
Challenges we tackle

Bridging the regional education gap
With the support of donors and sponsors, we provide equipment and improve facilities in schools across Uzbekistan’s regions.

Modernizing how students learn
Our Fellows teach a broader skill set — critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership — that connects education to real opportunity.

Learning beyond the classroom
Our Fellows organize after-school activities that help students discover and grow their talents.

Voices of our Alumni
Before I ask anything of my students, I want to be a living example myself. I want to instill in them the belief: “Yes, it can be done.”
You must win a student’s heart, and only then nurture a love for the subject. When children feel supported, they begin to see both their studies and themselves differently.
Through Teach For Uzbekistan I began striving toward greater goals. The program helped me identify the most important thing: my mission in life.

Questions people ask us
What is Teach For Uzbekistan?
Teach For Uzbekistan is a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains, and places outstanding university graduates and young professionals as teachers in underserved schools across Uzbekistan, through a two-year Fellowship. We are a partner of the global Teach For All network.
Is TFU a government program?
No. TFU is an independent nonprofit that works in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science under a formal Memorandum of Cooperation. Our program is designed to complement, not replace, the state education system — Fellows teach in public schools under the direction of school administrators, in full alignment with national education standards.
How is TFU funded?
Through a diverse mix of companies, international foundations and individual philanthropists, alongside institutional support from government partners.
How can I support TFU if I’m not applying as a Fellow?
You can partner with us as an organization, donate, or follow our work on social media.
Who can become a Fellow?
We look for motivated, capable young people with leadership potential — not necessarily a teaching background. What matters most is character, motivation, personal responsibility, and alignment with our values, evaluated alongside subject knowledge and communication skills.
